FOOTPRINT TECHNOLOGIES DEU

Smartphone-Based Foot Measurement Reduces Military Boot Fitting Time by Up to 80%. AI-supported, smartphone-based foot scanning is set to transform the equipment process of armed forces by eliminating one of its most persistent bottlenecks. Joint trials and current roll-out with a top5 NATO organization confirm that the time required for boot fitting can be reduced by up to 80 percent while significantly improving fit accuracy, comfort, and overall soldier satisfaction. At the same time, error rates and return logistics are substantially minimized. Developed by Berlin AI company Footprint Technologies, the solution operates entirely via smartphone and requires no additional hardware. If the shoe recommendations are combined with a modular comfort footbed system, already standard in the industrial safety footwear sector, it enables measurable gains in ergonomics and operational readiness. Despite the high quality of many NATAO combat boots, the current fitting process remains manual, time-intensive, and dependent on individual execution. The new digital approach introduces a standardized, data-driven workflow and unlocks further potential, ranging from continuous product optimization based on real foot data to the separation of measurement and distribution processes. Future scenarios include early data capture during recruitment and the provision of perfectly fitted footwear on day one of service. The technology is already in use by leading European safety footwear manufacturers (like ELTEN, Uvex, Würth-Modyf, U-Power, Abeba, Sixton). Furthermore one Top5-NATO armed force and first police organizations are rolling it out as well. Leading Military boot manufacturers like HAIX, MEINDL, LOWA or PRABOS are already collaborating to get their boots recommended best possible.
