Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. It manufactures state-of-the-art electronic products and systems for the Army, Navy, and the Air Force. BEL has also diversified into homeland security solutions, smart cities, e-governance, space electronics including satellite integration, energy storage products including e-vehicle charging stations, solar, network & cyber security, railways & metro solutions, airport solutions, Electronic Voting Machines, telecom products, passive night vision devices, medical electronics, composites, and software solutions.

BEL is a leading Indian aerospace and defense electronics company with robust capabilities in the communication segment, catering primarily to the strategic needs of the armed forces and other government agencies. BEL designs and manufactures a wide range of secure, state-of-the-art communication systems, including software-defined radios (SDRs), encrypted data links, satellite communication terminals, and tactical communication networks — built for high reliability, interoperability, and real-time secure data exchange in challenging environments. BEL's communication products support operations across land, sea, and air, and are integral to network-centric warfare systems, making the company a key contributor to India's defense communication infrastructure and self-reliance under the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.

BEL achieved a total turnover of USD 3.20 Bn for 2025-26 and exported USD 142 Mn to foreign customers, supplying equipment to key global players.

The company operates nine major manufacturing units across India — in Bangalore, Ghaziabad, Panchkula, Kotdwara, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Navi Mumbai, and Machilipatnam — each focused on areas such as military communication systems, radar, antennas, satellite systems, and electronic components.

These facilities follow international quality and safety standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, and ISO 45001, with some units also holding top-level certifications for aerospace products and software development.
